Idrissa Gana Gueye will wear the number 27 shirt for Everton this season, while fellow deadline-day signing James Garner will don number 37.

Combative midfielder Gana, who sealed his return to the Blues following a three-year stint with French giants Paris Saint-Germain, wore number 17 during his first stint at Goodison Park.

For 2022/23, however, he takes number 27, the same number he wore for PSG.

The number 27 shirt was last worn by striker Moise Kean and has previously been taken in the Premier League era by Nikola Vlasic, Tyias Browning, Apostolos Vellios, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Andy van der Meyde, among others.

Birkenhead-born Garner signed a four-year contract with the Toffees after completing his switch from Manchester United and will wear 37, the number he had at Old Trafford and also during two successful loan spells with Nottingham Forest.

Previous incumbents of the 37 shirt at Everton include Manuel Fernandes, Jack Rodwell and Jose Baxter.

Neal Maupay, who signed for the Club last week, will wear number 20.
