Matchday Guide: Everton v Nottingham Forest

Please see below for key information for fans attending Saturday’s Premier League game at Goodison Park (KO 3pm).

FANZONE

The Fanzone, back for the season, will be open at the Park End of Goodison Park from 1pm.

Catering units will be on site for hot and cold refreshment options, plus the Home Baked Bakery will have pies available in the Fanzone and at the Blue Base.

The Jjohns will be performing on stage, followed by The Live show, with special guests including Toni Duggan.

Fans’ Supporting Foodbanks and their unmissable purple vehicle will be back in the Fanzone.

Please note: No pyrotechnics (smoke cannisters or flares) will be allowed in the Fanzone.

DISRUPTION TO TRAIN SERVICES

Everton supporters who use the Merseyrail service will be met by severe disruption this Saturday, due to a planned 24-hour strike by Network Rail staff, from 7am.

No trains will stop at Bank Hall or Sandhills stations, while a very limited service will run to Kirkdale station.

Merseyrail will run an hourly service, calling at selected stations on each line between 07:30 and 18:30 on Saturday to help passengers make essential journeys.

Following the final whistle there will be a limited number of trains serving Kirkdale station before all services are halted. The disruption is likely to cause trains to be extremely busy.

A summary of services that will operate through Kirkdale station before kick-off is as follows.

  • Kirkby line: Trains will only call at Fazakerley, Rice Lane and Kirkdale. The latest train for the match will leave Kirkby at 13:44, arriving at Kirkdale at 13:54.
  • Ormskirk line: The latest train that will serve Kirkdale station before kick-off will leave Ormskirk station at 13:42, only calling at Maghull North, Maghull, Aintree and Kirkdale. It will arrive at Kirkdale at 14:04.
  • From Liverpool Central: There will be trains to Kirkdale at 14:10 and 14:25, only calling at Moorfields and Kirkdale. These will arrive at 14:19 and 14:34 respectively.

A summary of services that will operate through Kirkdale station after the final whistle is as follows.

  • Kirkby line: The last two trains will leave Kirkdale station at 17:19 and 18:06. These services will only stop at Rice Lane, Fazakerley, and Kirkby.
  • Ormskirk line: The last train will leave Kirkdale station at 17:34, only stopping at Aintree, Maghull, Maghull North, and Ormskirk.
  • For Liverpool Central: The last two trains will be 17:44 and 18:04. These trains will only stop at Moorfields and Liverpool Central.

GWLADYS STREET FLAGS

After a meeting with supporters’ groups, a range of flags will be in the Lower Gwladys Street for fans to use. Supporters are asked to leave flags in the Gwladys Street Stand under seats following the game, so they can be reused for the next home game.

PITCH ENCROACHMENT / PYROTECHNICS

Everton Football Club wishes to remind supporters that entering the field of play is a criminal offence.

The Club is committed to the Premier League, FA and EFL’s collective stance in tackling anti-social and criminal behaviour at football matches and will take a zero-tolerance approach to pitch encroachment during the 2022/23 campaign.

Stadium bans - and even criminal prosecution - can and will be enforced to punish anyone that enters the playing area.

The Club is legally compelled to work with the authorities to identify any individuals who take part in such activity.

This also applies to the use of any pyrotechnics (smoke grenades and or flares) and the throwing of objects of any description on to the pitch. These acts are dangerous, illegal and have severe consequences.

Under strict stadium guidelines, all pyrotechnics are prohibited and supporters are advised that spot checks will take place at turnstiles and any such items will be confiscated.

Fans also run the risk of arrest and a subsequent stadium ban for possession of a pyrotechnic inside a football stadium.

POST-COVID RESTRICTIONS

With the relaxing of Covid restrictions, supporters are advised that the red zones around Goodison are no longer in operation and supporters who had their matchday routes affected will now revert to pre-Covid routes, particularly around the accessible areas for the Bullens Road and Park End.

FOODBANK DONATIONS

Fans’ Supporting Foodbanks and their unmissable purple vehicle will be back in the Fanzone this season on matchdays. They will be accessible from Goodison Road.

MATCHDAY HUB AND HERITAGE SOCIETY

The Matchday Hub, based at Everton Free School, will not be in operation for this match due to ongoing maintenance work. The Hub will remain closed until September.

However, The Heritage Society will be open at St Luke’s Church from 12pm on Saturday.

TEAS FOR FANS

Teas for Fans will be open in the ground floor of St Luke’s Church Hall from 12.30pm.

Teas for Fans’ has been operating from St Luke’s for more than 30 years, offering supporters the chance to enjoy pre-match refreshments of tea, coffee and hot chocolate among fellow Evertonians.

Supporters can gather in a family friendly environment and enjoy a variety of hot and cold drinks and biscuits, with prices starting from just £1.

SUPPORTERS CODE OF CONDUCT / REPORTING DISCRIMINATION

Everton Football Club has a zero-tolerance approach to harassment and discrimination at Goodison Park.

While the overwhelming majority of supporters behaved impeccably at our opening home fixture against Chelsea, there were a small number of incidents that were deemed unacceptable. These isolated incidents were dealt with by the Club’s Stewarding and Safety Team and, where required, Merseyside Police.

Following Club investigations in to separate incidents of harassment and discrimination, one supporter has received a lengthy stadium ban while another has been banned from Goodison Park until Merseyside Police have concluded their own inquires.

Everyone attending, working or taking part in a football match has the right to feel safe, valued and included and the Club encourages all supporters to continue to play their part.

If you witness any form of harassment or discriminatory behaviour at a match or around Goodison Park, please report it.

This can be done by speaking to a Club steward, a Police officer or Everton’s dedicated confidential reporting lines.
