Everton Stadium Steps Up

Concrete terracing blocks are now being slotted into place at both ends of Everton Stadium.

Marking the first anniversary since work began on the build, the first bespoke, double-stepped terracing unit was installed in the north stand earlier this week.

And at the opposite end of the stadium, more terracing has followed suit as the shape of the 52,888-seater stadium continues to evolve.

In all, a total of 1,217 precast components, manufactured in Ireland by Laing O’Rourke’s supply chain partner, Banagher, will be bolted into place to form the internal bowl lining.

As our latest video update shows, work is gathering pace across the site at Bramley-Moore Dock, with the first concrete walls of the second floor of the west stand beginning to be installed.

Opposite, in the east stand, the early installs of the first floor concrete pillars and walls are emerging.

This stand will be the last to be completed, as it serves as site access for vehicles, materials and cranes.

The steelwork in the north stand will be developed further in the coming weeks, as the two separate sections are joined up.

Finally, the south stand steelwork is now close to being connected to the structural concrete core in the south west, with additional steelwork also developing in the south east corner.
