Leighton Baines will take charge of his first competitive game as Everton Under-18s Head Coach when the young Blues kick off their 2022/23 campaign at Nottingham Forest on Saturday (12pm BST).

Everton great Baines has taken up the role following two seasons as assistant to Paul Tait, who has been promoted to the position of Under-21s Head Coach.

Baines’ side are expected to face a tough test against Forest, who finished fourth in the U18 Premier League (North) last season, six places ahead of the Toffees.

The match will take place at Alfreton Town’s Impact Arena Stadium.
