Broadhead Joins Wigan On Loan

Everton forward Nathan Broadhead has completed a loan move to Wigan Athletic and will spend the 2022/23 season with the Championship side.

Broadhead, who joined the Blues' Academy aged 10, spent last term on loan with Sunderland and played an important role in the Black Cats' promotion via the League One play-offs.

Despite missing a portion of the season with injury, Broadhead racked up an impressive tally of 13 goals in 27 matches during his time at the Stadium of Light.

He now joins Leam Richardson's side to bolster the Latics' attack, after the Lancashire-based outfit drew their opening two games of the campaign following their return to the second tier of English football.

Broadhead made his senior Everton debut in December 2017, coming on as an 82nd-minute substitute in the 3-0 Europa League group stage win over Apollon Limassol in Cyprus.

The 24-year-old then scooped Everton's Under-23 Player-of-the-Season prize following the young Blues' double-winning exploits in 2018/19.

Born in Bangor, has been capped by Wales at every level from Under-17 to Under-21 and has also enjoyed a successful loan spell at Burton Albion in 2020/21.
