Quotes from Frank Lampard's post-Blackpool evertontv interview feature in Monday's edition of the Liverpool Echo, with the Blues boss providing an update on the fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Demarai Gray.

The pair sat out Sunday's 4-2 win at Bloomfield Road as a precaution and, speaking afterwards, Lampard said: "You’re concerned because you want them on the pitch but they are small issues that we’re not worth risking today.

"We travelled back from America on a long overnight flight after Minnesota. Then the lads needed a bit of time off and came back so where they’ve got small issues it wasn’t worth risking them. Hopefully, they’ll be fit to train in the middle of the week and we’ll play it from there."

The Echo also carries an interview with First-Team Coach Paul Clement, who believes Frank Lampard has what it takes to become a top manager, revealing the Blues boss "lives, eats and breathes" his job.

Clement said: "My opinion is Frank will go a long way in management and I'm not just saying that, I have a reason behind it. I think he has got the right temperament for it. He has got the right commitment for it as well. I'm not always sure that is the case with very, very high-level players, they come out of football and they don't have that work ethic, that desire, and he really does.

"He is really, really conscientious - really conscientious, and I hadn't worked with him, this is the first time I have worked with him on the coaching side because I wasn't with him at Chelsea when he was coach and I wasn't with him at Derby when he was a coach - so I knew him as a player and now I know him as a manager and he is really, really conscientious.

"He lives, eats, breathes his job. He talks about it until late, he is on it right from the morning. When he was on holiday he was on the phone and messaging. He is fully immersed in it and I think that is the only way you can be as a manager if you want to do it properly."

Transfer speculation remains rife across print and online media, with French outlet RMC Sport claiming Everton are one of four clubs interested in securing a deal to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Alassane Plea.

The Toffees are rumoured to face competition from Marseille, Nice and Nottingham Forest if they are to seal a deal for the 29-year-old, who is said to be available for around £7million this summer.

Elsewhere, Mundo Deportivo writes Andre Gomes is eyeing an exit from Everton and wants to join La Liga outfit Sevilla during this transfer window.

And finally, in the Yorkshire Live, it is reported Huddersfield Town have "registered an interest" in young Blues forward Ellis Simms, who is allegedly being chased by Millwall and a host of other Championship sides.
