Minnesota Toffees Play Host To Latest US Fan Event

Leon Osman joined the Minnesota Toffees as they threw open the doors of their meeting place, La Doña Cervecería, to welcome fellow Blues to the Twin Cities on Monday.

Osman was the star guest as fans from across North America gathered together with Evertonians from the UK to build excitement for the Club's game against Minnesota United on Wednesday night (kick-off 7pm CT, Thursday 21 July, 1am BST).

A similar event had taken place in Baltimore on Friday ahead of Everton's clash with Arsenal as part of a series of activities arranged by Everton's network of affiliated US Supporters' Clubs.

Osman was interviewed on stage by Everton's Darren Griffiths and reflected on his 433-game Blues career, before answering questions from the audience about his best moments and Toffees teammates.

The 41-year-old, an Academy graduate who spent his entire career with Everton, said: "We had a fantastic time in Baltimore last week and this was a great start to our time in Minneapolis-Saint Paul.

"We're seeing so much enthusiasm from the supporters out here in the States, and also those who've made the huge commitment to fly over from the UK, and it's clear there's as much excitement here in Minnesota as there was for the game against Arsenal.

"The Supporters' Club network have done a brilliant job of getting everyone together - and we all know it's the unity of the fans that makes Everton such a special club."

Mark Mueller, Chair of the Minnesota Toffees, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Leon for coming down to La Doña Cervecería and to all the Toffees who turned out.

“It was fantastic for us to be able to share the place where we watch Everton with so many other Blues.

“We’re delighted to have Everton playing here in Minnesota and we can’t wait for Wednesday’s game.”

Everton Giant Adrian Heath, the Head Coach of Minnesota United, joined Graeme Sharp, Osman, Alex Iwobi and Ashley Cole at another warm-up event on Tuesday inside nearby Bloomington's Mall of America - the largest shopping mall in North America.
