The Liverpool Echo publish quotes with Everton's First Team coach Chris Jones as he reflected on the progress made so far in the Blues' pre-season camp in the USA.

One player who has "hit the ground running" since returning from a summer break is Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Jones expressed the England international's eagerness to pick up where he left off at the end of last season.

“Dominic is looking good," Jones told the local outlet.

"He had a tough season last year in terms of his injury. He came in really good at the end with the important goal that he scored for us.

"I think he looks like the athlete that he wants to be now, and through the rest of the pre-season we will be looking to develop that.”

In transfer news, the Daily Mail reports that the Club are looking to sign Burnley forward Maxwel Cornet this summer.

The tabloid claims Everton manager Frank Lampard is keen to bring the Ivory Coast international to Goodison Park.

It is expected that the 25-year-old would join the Blues on a permanent deal.

Another forward who could be on his way to Goodison Park is Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis.

Speaking to GiveMeSportCBS reporter Ben Jacobs has linked the Toffees with a move for the Nigerian this summer.

The Championship side are reportedly looking for a fee in the region of £25million for their forward, with Newcastle United also interested according to the report.
