What The Papers Say - 26 June

Following speculation yesterday that Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite could leave the Club on loan this summer, the Liverpool Echo discusses the benefits of regular game time for the young centre-back.

Reporter Adam Jones wrote: "A loan move might not work out for Branthwaite in the long run, but maybe it provides him the best chance of the crucial minutes he needs to pick up.

"He's good enough to be playing regular, first-team football now - and this summer could be a great chance for him to really prove that."

Reports on the future of Brazilian attacker Richarlison continue to circulate across the media, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Blues may be forced to sell the 25-year-old before the end of June.

Their report explains that in order to comply with financial fair play regulations, Richarlison could depart Everton by 30 June.

Tottenham Hotspur continue to be strongly linked with the Blues number seven, with Antonio Conte's side willing to offer Harry Winks and Lucas Moura as part of deal, according to the tabloid.

One player who could be on his way to Goodison Park is Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour.

Eurosport journalist Dean Jones claims Frank Lampard is an admirer of the Blues youngster and could be a strong addition to the Everton midfield with the potential arrival of Harry Winks this transfer window as well.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones said: “Harry Winks is someone who can play that role. He obviously likes Billy Gilmour as well.

“Whether he’s ready to take on that kind of responsibility at a big club like Everton week to week is still to be decided, but I think Lampard is definitely looking for that profile of player.”
