Pickford Helps England To Draw In Munich

Jordan Pickford earned his 45th international cap as he helped England earn a 1-1 draw with Germany in Munich on Tuesday night.

The Three Lions fell behind five minutes after the half-time interval when Jonas Hofmann's deflected shot crept in.

But Everton keeper Pickford made two vital saves to deny Thomas Muller and Timo Werner to keep Gareth Southgate's side in the contest, before Harry Kane converted a late penalty to secure a share of the spoils.

The point is England's first in Group G of the Nations League, having fallen to defeat to Hungary on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Anthony Gordon was once again impressive and registered an assist for England Under-21s, with the youngsters running out 3-0 winners against Albania at Chesterfield's Technique Stadium.

Brimming with confidence, Gordon burst down the left flank before producing an inch-perfect cross for Aston Villa's Cameron Archer to score his first goal for the Young Lions.

A pair of Folarin Balogun strikes either side of Archer's ensured a comfortable victory that consolidates Lee Carsley's side at the top of their EURO qualifying group.
