Under-23s Midfielder Agrees New Deal

Everton Under-23s midfielder Sebastian Quirk has signed a new one-year contract with the Club until the end of June 2023.

The 20-year-old boyhood Evertonian, who joined the Blues’ Academy aged 11, expressed his gratitude to everyone who has aided his development at Finch Farm.

“It’s an amazing feeling for me, especially being a Blue,” Quirk told evertontv.

“I’m delighted to be able to extend my time here.

“I’ve supported this club since I was a kid. It’s a dream to play for Everton.

“The atmosphere around the Club is so positive. Everyone wants to work together and progress.

“I’ve taken each age group as it comes, working hard with each step and I’m looking to continue that.

“It’s a massive confidence boost having this new contract so it’s about keeping that going and pushing on.

“The season has just finished but I’m already buzzing for the next. I just can’t wait to get back in and get going again.”

Quirk’s versatility has seen the youngster play a number of positions throughout his Academy career, with the 2021/22 season allowing him to strengthen his defensive game at right-back.

“My whole Academy career, I’ve been everywhere!” he added.

“Last season, I’ve liked where I’ve played, I really enjoyed it. It’s given me a lot of freedom.

“I just want to keep working hard and it would mean the world to me to one day play for the First Team.

“My whole family are Blues so it would be for them as well, to make them proud.

“It would be a way of thanking them for everything they’ve done for me.”
