Manager Names Everton XI For Palace

Michael Keane is restored to Everton’s starting line-up following illness, as Frank Lampard makes one change for Thursday’s high-stakes Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Centre-half Keane, who missed Sunday’s meeting with Brentford, replaces the suspended Jarrad Branthwaite in a back three also featuring Mason Holgate and captain Seamus Coleman.

Another defender in Ben Godfrey is fit enough for a place in the matchday squad following four weeks on the sidelines with a thigh problem, while Donny van de Beek is in the 20-man party after two months out with his own muscle issue.

Lampard liked a lot about his side’s performance at the weekend, when Everton led 1-0 before Branthwaite’s 18th-minute dismissal changed the complexion of the game.

And the manager’s selection supports his positive view, with 10 of the starting XI retaining their positions. Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues up front following a goalscoring return against Brentford, with Anthony Gordon and Richarlison stationed either side of the Englishman in attack.

Alex Iwobi makes his 11th straight start, playing at wing-back, while on the left there is a 10th start in a row for Vitalii Mykolenko.

Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andre Gomes, making his 100th appearance for the Club, are Everton’s central midfielders.

Jordan Pickford plays his 199th Everton game in goal.

Demarai Gray, Allan, Tom Davies, Dele and Godfrey are all named among Everton’s substitutes.

They are joined on a nine-strong bench by Dutchman Van de Beek, Jonjoe Kenny, Reece Welch and goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
