Heading into the final fixtures of the season, former England international Paul Merson has backed Everton to avoid the drop.

Writing in his Sky Sports column, the pundit expects fellow relegation rivals Burnley and Leeds United to struggle for victories on the final day of the season.

He wrote: “I think Everton will be alright, I’ve seen enough from them to get something out of the next two games.

“They have to get something out of Crystal Palace at home and I can see that happening. Even then, you’d have to ask Burnley and Leeds to win their football matches which is a big ask, especially on the last day of the season.”

Looking ahead to tomorrow evening's match against Crystal palace, the Liverpool Echo speculates who could be named in the Blues' starting line-up.

The local outlet expects Michael Keane to return to Frank Lampard's side, having missed Sunday's match against Brentford through illness.

Elsewhere, in midfield, the Echo ponders whether Allan could be recalled.

In transfer news, German organisation Sport1 has linked Richarlison with a move to Bayern Munich this summer.

According to their sources, the Brazilian remains an option should the Bundesliga champions fail to land their main targets.

The German broadcaster adds that Richarlison is a "surprise candidate" and the side have made contact with the player's representatives, although they stress "nothing concrete" was discussed.
