Manager Names Everton XI For Brentford

Dominic Calvert-Lewin makes his first Everton start since the victory over Manchester United five weeks ago, and Andre Gomes and Jarrad Branthwaite both come into the team, as Frank Lampard makes three changes for Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Brentford.

Michael Keane, who played at Watford in midweek, fell ill overnight and is unavailable.

Striker Calvert-Lewin is joined up front by Richarlison and Anthony Gordon.

Portuguese Gomes, beginning a game for the first time since Lampard’s first Premier League match at the helm, away against Newcastle United on 8 February, plays next to Abdoualye Doucoure in the centre of midfield. Alex Iwobi and Vitalii Mykolenko occupy the wing-back positions.

Everton’s back three is populated by Branthwaite, beginning a third top-flight game this term, Mason Holgate and captain Seamus Coleman.

Jordan Pickford starts his 198th Everton match in goal.

Demarai Gray, Allan, Dele, Salomon Rondon and Tom Davies are named on the bench.

Manager Lampard also includes Jonjoe Kenny, goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and the Under-23 pair of Isaac Price and Reece Welch among his substitutes.
