Everton Boss Reveals Team News

Everton manager Frank Lampard has revealed Fabian Delph will miss Sunday's visit of Brentford, but Ben Godfrey and Donny van de Beek have a chance of making the matchday squad.

Experienced midfielder Delph has started each of the Blues' past three Premier League games, but was forced off with a "small muscle injury" in the 81st minute of Wednesday's goalless draw at Watford.

Lampard says the 32-year-old will be assessed in the coming days to determine whether or not he can be involved again this season.

Elsewhere, there was better news for Godfrey, who has missed four games with a quadriceps problem, as Lampard revealed the defender is "very close" to regaining full fitness and could "possibly" be involved against Brentford.

It was a similar story for Donny van de Beek, with Lampard expecting the on-loan Dutch midfielder to be available for either Brentford or Thursday's visit of Crystal Palace after sustaining a groin injury last month.

Earlier this week, Lampard explained Yerry Mina (calf) is more likely to be looking towards a potential return against Arsenal on the final day of the season.

Nathan Patterson (ankle) and Andros Townsend (ACL) are out for the remainder of the campaign.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference at Finch Farm, Lampard said: "Fabian won't be fit for the game against Brentford. We'll see for the rest of the season - it's a small muscle injury but it's an injury, one to keep him out of this game.

"Ben Godfrey is very close, whether or not he'll be fit for this squad... He's possibly going to be in the squad.

"Donny van de Beek is getting closer and I'd like to think he might be involved on Sunday, if not on Thursday [against Crystal Palace].

"There isn't much change other than that."
