The Liverpool Echo believes that Frank Lampard must "gamble" and take risks if Everton are to rise above the relegation zone before the end of the season.

Connor O'Neill, of the Merseyside outlet, wrote: "He (Frank Lampard) has to gamble on team selection, formations and what substitutes to put on when Everton are chasing games."

Heart of Midlothian manager Robbie Neilson has revealed that the Edinburgh side will attempt to sign Everton forward Ellis Simms on loan for the 2022/23 campaign.

The Blues forward has been with the Jambos in January and has made a strong impression in the Scottish Premiership.

In an interview with Hearts' club channel, that was quoted in Football Scotland, Neilson said: “He’s been outstanding since day one. We just need to enjoy the next five games with him and hopefully see him again next season.

“It’ll be a big ask to get him here, but we’re definitely trying.”

A report from Italy suggests Everton have joined the race to sign Torino defender Wilfried Singo this summer.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport speculates Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race for the 21-year-old but are expected to face competition from the Toffees and West Ham United before any deal is finalised.
