Tuesday’s edition of the Liverpool Echo includes quotes from Everton winger Demarai Gray, who has explained why he feels he is at the ideal club to realise his potential.
Speaking in an interview originally given to the Blues’ matchday programme for Wednesday night’s game against Leicester City, he said: “To fulfil your own potential, you need to be in the right environment and, since I signed, Everton has felt right.
“Everton is a top club, that hasn’t changed... and we have a good, young manager, who – along with his staff – demands a lot from us.”
The Echo also features former Everton defender Michael Ball’s regular column, and he believes the Toffees can benefit from their break in competitive action following the 1-0 win over Manchester United on 9 April.
Ball writes: “After the 10-day break following the win over Manchester United, hopefully Frank Lampard has had a chance to really work with the squad – mentally and physically – over what they need to do in these final eight games of the season, starting on Wednesday night against Leicester.”
The Daily Mail, meanwhile, suggests Everton have been lining up a move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
West Ham United and Roma are also rumoured to be keen on signing Loftus-Cheek.
The paper reports, however, the 26-year-old is currently intent on remaining with the west London club.
