Everton To Promote Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal On Shirt Sleeve

Everton’s players will proudly sport branding of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal on the sleeve of their shirts for the remainder of the 2021/22 Premier League season, starting with Wednesday’s fixture away to Burnley.

The donation of the sleeve patch to the charitable campaign, with the permission of the Premier League, is the latest initiative by the Club to support fundraising efforts for people affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

The news follows the recent announcement that Everton has supported the DEC fundraising effort with a £500,000 contribution, consisting of a £250,000 Club donation, matched by a donation from Chairman Bill Kenwright and majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

A dedicated text donation hotline has also been launched by the Club and the DEC to allow supporters to donate £10 to the appeal by texting EVERTON to 70150*.

Everton Chairman, Bill Kenwright, said: “What continues to unfold in Ukraine is utterly heart-breaking, and morally wrong. We are determined to do everything we can to support the humanitarian effort taking place on the ground to help the people of Ukraine.

“When we announced our initial donation to the DEC appeal, we did so with a promise that it was just the start of our Club’s campaign to promote and support their efforts.

“We are honoured to work alongside the incredible people at DEC and to promote their appeal on matchdays and on the sleeve of our shirt in our Premier League games for the rest of this season."

Pitchside LEDs and the big screen at Goodison will continue to carry wider messaging in support of the fundraising efforts on matchdays, with the campaign also promoted across Club social channels and in the matchday programme.

The DEC Appeal is a collaboration of 15 leading UK aid charities focused on raising funds to quickly and effectively respond to the unfolding crisis in Ukraine.

*Texts cost £10 and the whole £10 goes to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal plus your standard network charge. You must have the bill payer’s permission. For full T&Cs visit dec.org.uk.
