Mason Holgate described his frustration as Everton were left empty-handed following an "improved performance" in the 2-1 loss at West Ham.

Holgate, who was promoted to the starting line-up following an injury to Donny van de Beek in the warm-up, scored in the second half to get the Blues back on level terms after Aaron Cresswell's pinpoint free-kick broke the deadlock.

But the hosts pounced on an error five minutes later, with Jarrod Bowen applying the finishing touch to consign the Blues to defeat.
