Lifelong Everton fan Pat Griffin enjoyed a double celebration recently after turning 90 and receiving a shock telephone call from her favourite player, Anthony Gordon.
Blues winger Gordon surprised Pat to thank her for her unstinting support and confirm that she would receive a complimentary Season Ticket for the 2022/23 season.

As part of the Club’s announcement on 2022/23 Season Ticket renewals, it confirmed existing Season Ticket Members aged 90 and over will be able to attend league matches free of charge for the remaining years at Goodison Park.
And Pat, who attends every game at Goodison, was overjoyed at her belated birthday surprise.
Daughter Kathy Weaver said: “It’s hard to explain sometimes what a huge part of our lives Everton Football Club is, and Anthony couldn’t have been nicer to mum.
“He was so warm, friendly and really genuine and it was just a joy. She was absolutely thrilled and totally gobsmacked. It was like watching a six-year-old opening their best present at Christmas.
“I can’t tell you how happy it made her and it was just a great part of her 90th birthday celebrations.
“And when she heard about the offer of a free season ticket for those over 90, she thought it was just fantastic.”
Blues Academy graduate Gordon added: “It was lovely to call Pat and hear her stories about supporting Everton over the years.
“People like Pat are the lifeblood of the Club. The passion she has, the sheer love for our Club is incredible, and it makes me feel so proud to represent Everton knowing that people like Pat are supporting us week in, week out."
For Everton Season Tickets Members wanting to spread the cost of their seat for 2022/23, the 11-month Direct Debit deadline is now just a week away - at midnight on Thursday 31 March.
Season Ticket Members will have until 5pm on Friday 29 April to renew and guarantee their existing seat for the forthcoming campaign. A 10-month Direct Debit option will also be available to renewing Season Ticket Members between Friday 1 April and the renewal deadline on 29 April.
For the first time, every Everton Season Ticket Member for the 2022/23 campaign will be issued a Digital Season Ticket, although supporters who wish to retain a physical Season Card will be offered the option to purchase one at an additional cost of £5 at the point of renewal.
Another first for 2022/23 will allow Season Ticket Members to assign their seat to a fellow Blue using a new ‘Friends & Family’ functionality within their digital ticketing account should they not be able to attend a home fixture. This is in addition to the Club's existing official Ticket Resale platform, which allows supporters to list their seat for any games they cannot attend.
