Matchday Guide: Everton v Newcastle United

Please see below for key information for fans attending Thursday’s Premier League game (7.45pm kick-off).

SUPPORTERS CODE OF CONDUCT

Supporters are respectfully reminded of the code of conduct inside the stadium.

Everton Football Club has a zero-tolerance approach to all incidents of disorder and discrimination - and we strongly remind everyone that it is a criminal offence under the Football (Offences) Act 1991 to enter the pitch and to throw items inside the stadium

This not only disrupts the match, but is also deemed to be a serious security risk to all players, officials and everyone in the stadium.

We remind supporters that all perpetrators of public order offences, which includes pitch encroachment, the throwing of objects and racist or discriminatory behaviour (see more, below), will receive lengthy stadium bans, potential police investigation and further possible legal sanctions.

COVID 19 PROTOCOLS

Supporters are advised that there are no longer COVID measures or spot checks in place. However, we encourage fans to take a lateral flow test before attending games, to protect yourself and other supporters.

NO ROOM FOR RACISM

Thursday sees the Club continue to support the Premier League’s annual No Room For Racism campaign.

There is no place for discrimination of any kind in football, and Everton - along with the Premier League and the rest of its clubs - will continue to take action so that the game is inclusive and welcoming for all.

The Premier League and its clubs are committed to tackling discrimination and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion across all areas of the game.

League-wide sanctions were introduced ahead of the 2021/22 season, meaning anybody found guilty of racist abuse, whether it occurs within stadiums or online, will be permanently banned from all Premier League grounds.

Enhanced training for matchday stewards is helping ensure they are equipped to respond to discriminatory abuse and assist in gathering evidence to ban perpetrators.

Progress has also been made against the No Room For Racism action plan, which launched in 2021, with six commitments to create a greater access to opportunities and career progression for people from under-represented ethnicities, as well as combatting racial abuse and discrimination.

HOW TO REPORT DISCRIMINATORY BEHAVIOUR

Everton has a dedicated text number for fans to report any discriminatory or abusive behaviour they witness during matches at Goodison Park.

If you see or hear something, report it to our Stadium Safety Team immediately by texting HELP and your message to 84300, or email reportit@evertonfc.com. In your message, please include details of what you have witnessed and where.
