Everton Manager Gives Team News Update

Frank Lampard says he is “hopeful” Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be available for Everton’s Premier League clash at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Demarai Gray’s availability for the game will be assessed in the coming days after missing Thursday night’s FA Cup win over Boreham Wood with a fever and, while Ben Godfrey is not yet ready to come back to First-Team action from his hamstring injury, Lampard added the centre-back is set to return to training next week.

Andre Gomes is in contention for selection against Spurs after recovering from a thigh problem.

Yerry Mina (quadriceps), Fabian Delph (thigh) and Tom Davies (hamstring) remain out for Everton.

On Calvert-Lewin, who has missed Everton’s matches against Manchester City and Boreham Wood with an adductor injury, Lampard said: “I’m hopeful [he will be ready for Spurs]. He is going to train with us on Saturday.

“I’ve just spoken to him, and he was very pleased with his session on Friday morning.

“Hopefully he integrates with the squad on Saturday and we will see how he is for Monday.

“Ben Godfrey won’t make Monday’s match but should be ready to train with us in the middle of next week, which is great.

“We’ve lost two big centre-backs [Godfrey and Yerry Mina] from pretty much the moment I came in.

“Demarai Gray had a fever going into the game against Boreham Wood when he was due to play – and we’ve missed Demarai pretty much since I’ve been here, too.

“Andre Gomes has trained on Friday and will be available for the squad.”
