Matchday Guide: Boot Donation Drive And Key Fan Information

Please see below for key information for fans attending Saturday’s game against Manchester City at Goodison Park (kick-off 5.30pm GMT).

DONATE UNWANTED FOOTBALL BOOTS

Everton fans will have one more chance to donate unwanted football boots to needy children across Merseyside and beyond.

A ‘boot drop’ in aid of charityboots.com, held at Goodison ahead of the home games against Aston Villa and Brentford proved a hit with supporters, with a bulky collection generously donated by the charity to the Unity Youth Centre, based in Toxteth.

And the dedicated drop-off container will again be in place in front of the Dixie Dean gates on Goodison Road this Saturday, ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Charityboots.com are working with Blues defender Yerry Mina, who has previously shipped unwanted boots to underprivileged children to the player’s foundation in his native Colombia.

Mina and his Blues’ teammate Richarlison started the initial collection from Everton at USM Finch Farm last month, where a dedicated drop-off bin remains in place for players and staff to contribute to the appeal.

Neil Smith, founder of Charityboots.org, added: “The support we’ve had from Everton fans at the two recent games was a great success.

“We’ve collected a good number of boots and the best part is that we were able to donate these boots directly back into the community to a youth club in Toxteth.

"We change the inner soles, change the laces, give the boots a deep clean and bring them back to life. We’re trying to close that gap between the ones that have and the ones that don’t have, so we’re fully behind this and with the support and love from Everton fans and club, hopefully we can make a big difference.”

SUPPORTERS CODE OF CONDUCT

Supporters are respectfully reminded of the code of conduct inside the stadium.

Recent games involving Everton have seen fan encroachment onto the field, objects being thrown from the crowd onto the field of play and an instance of racist abuse, which has resulted in a criminal conviction.

Everton Football Club has a zero-tolerance approach to all incidents of disorder and discrimination - and we strongly remind everyone that it is a criminal offence under the Football (Offences) Act 1991 to enter the pitch and to throw items inside the stadium

This not only disrupts the match, but is also deemed to be a serious security risk to all players, officials and everyone in the stadium.

We remind supporters that all perpetrators of public order offences, which includes pitch encroachment, the throwing of objects and racist or discriminatory behaviour (see more, below), will receive lengthy stadium bans, potential Police investigation and further possible legal sanctions.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Supporters are advised that there are no longer COVID measures or spot checks in place.

Fans are no longer required to offer evidence of their COVID status in order to gain entrance.

However, we encourage fans to take a lateral flow test before attending games, to protect yourself and other supporters.

FOODBANK DONATIONS

A group of foodbank volunteers and their unmissable purple vehicle will be based on the corner of Winslow Street and Goodison Road, next to The Winslow Hotel public house.

The Matchday Hub based at Everton Free School will not be in operation for the Manchester City match, however the Everton Heritage Society at St Luke's Church will be open from 2.30pm-5pm.
