Dobbin Nominated For PL2 Award

Everton Under-23s forward Lewis Dobbin has been nominated for January's Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

It was a positive month for the 19-year-old, who helped David Unsworth's side pick up a point in the Merseyside derby followed by a fantastic header that secured a 1-0 win over an in-form Tottenham Hotspur side.

The Blues forward also enjoyed some minutes with the First Team last month, having been introduced for the final 15 minutes during a 3-2 win over Hull City in the Emirates FA Cup third round.

It has been a breakthrough season for the youngster, who made his senior debut in a victory over Norwich City in September 2021.

Dobbin's hard work this campaign was rewarded in January with a new three-and-a-half-year contract.

Having been with the Blues' Academy since the age of 11, Dobbin's pace, skill and ability has seen him rise through the ranks.

The shortlist was selected by the Premier League's Football Development Panel after Premier League 2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opponent in each of their league matches in the month. The Panel will also decide the winner.
