A final decision on the next manager of Everton Football Club could be made today, according to reports in Friday's media.

The Guardian claims Majority Shareholder Farhad Moshiri will meet Frank Lampard, Vitor Pereira and Duncan Ferguson later today for a final round of discussions.

They go on to claim the Blues wish to make a decision as quickly as possible in order to to further strengthen the squad ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday.

The Liverpool Echo supports this report and adds that Lampard is the leading candidate to secure the managerial vacancy.

One man who is believed to remove himself from the process is Wayne Rooney.

The Mirror reports that the former Everton Academy Graduate turned down the opportunity to be involved in the final round of interviews for the manager's job.

Finally, in transfer news, the Daily Mail speculates that the Blues will attempt to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek this transfer window.

It is believed that Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel wants the 26-year-old to remain at Stamford Bridge.

The tabloid believes there is an added incentive to bring midfield reinforcements following the news that Abdoulaye Doucoure and Fabian Delph will be sidelined for a minimum of four weeks.
