Dobbin Signs New Everton Deal

England youth international forward Lewis Dobbin has signed a new contract with Everton, penning a three-and-a-half-year deal until the end of June 2025.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Blues’ Academy aged 11, set out his ambition to make “the Club and my family proud” as he aims to build on a breakthrough 2021/22 campaign.

A quick, skilful and intelligent attacker, Dobbin made his Everton First-Team debut in September 2021 when he was introduced as a substitute in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Norwich City at Goodison Park.

The England Under-19 international has since made a further three senior Everton appearances this term.

Speaking to evertontv, Dobbin said: “It’s a huge honour that the Club has put their faith in me with this new deal.

“I love Everton and I’ve been here for such a long time now. I’m so grateful for the chances I’ve been given and to all the coaches I’ve had during my time in the Academy.

“I’m comfortable in the environment here and I just want to make the people at Everton proud and my family proud.

“I’m going to keep working hard and keep pushing. Hopefully I can get more opportunities in the First Team and score my first goal.”

Dobbin revealed the encouragement he has received from Blues fans has further stoked his fire to succeed for Everton.

“My Twitter and Instagram comments have been full of people wanting me to sign a new contract,” he added.

“It gives me confidence that they want to see more from me. I want to give back to them and do well for them in the future.”

Dobbin has made impressive progress throughout his time in Everton’s Academy.

He enjoyed an exceptional personal campaign in 2019/20 for the Blues’ Under-18 side, when he scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in just 16 league matches.

While the following term was heavily disrupted by knee and calf injuries, Dobbin returned for pre-season training last summer fit and firing, scoring 10 goals across five Under-23s friendly matches.

Dobbin’s development has resulted in him regularly featuring in First-Team training this season and he has been part of 10 senior matchday squads.

The teenager explained how he aims to seize every opportunity to learn from the talented attacking players at Everton.

“There are a variety of different forwards here,” said Dobbin. “They are always talking to me when we are doing finishing drills and walkthroughs on team shape.

“They pass on little pieces of advice, which is very helpful. I want to take that on board and improve myself.
