Club Statement: Supporter Receives Ban After Discriminatory Insults

A 44-year-old Everton supporter has received a fine and a three-year banning order after being found guilty of a racially aggravated offence during the Club’s home fixture with Tottenham Hotspur on 7 November 2021.

The incident took place in the Sir Philip Carter Park End Stand, near the divide with the away supporters, where the offender repeatedly shouted anti-Semitic insults.

The Club has supported Merseyside Police in its enquires which led to the arrest, and subsequent conviction at South Sefton Magistrates Court, under Section 5 of the Public Order Act.

While the behaviour of this individual does not represent our passionate fanbase or the values of our football club, they will not be tolerated or welcomed at Goodison Park. Everton is an inclusive football club that celebrates the diversity of all football supporters, players and staff. 

The Club has a zero-tolerance policy on ALL forms of discrimination and will act swiftly to deal with any reported instances of discrimination.

If you witness racist or other discriminatory behaviour at a match or around a stadium where any Everton team is playing, please report it. This can be done at the match directly to a steward, a police officer or by texting HELP plus details of the incident to 60030 or emailing reportit@evertonfc.com.
