Former Everton and Northern Ireland midfielder Bryan Hamilton is our co-commentator for Saturday’s Premier League fixture at Carrow Road.

Hamilton, who joined the Blues from Ipswich Town in 1975 and played 54 games, scoring 5 goals, will join regular commentator Darren Griffiths on evertonfc.com from 3pm.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Hamilton. “It’s a while since I have seen the Blues live and it’s a football club that I still have a lot of affection for. It’s a big game, too.”

After leaving Goodison, Hamilton had spells with Millwall, Swindon Town and Tranmere Rovers before embarking on a long managerial career with Tranmere, Wigan Athletic (twice), Leicester City, Northern Ireland and Saturday’s opponents Norwich City.

His time at Everton will always be remembered, of course, for the ‘goal’ that never was, when he turned a Ronny Goodlass cross past Liverpool goalkeeper Ray Clemence towards the end of the 1977 FA Cup semi-final at Maine Road.

Referee Clive Thomas inexplicably disallowed the effort and he still hasn’t been forgiven by Evertonians of a certain generation!

“I’m looking forward to some interaction with the supporters on Saturday and I am sure that semi-final will crop up….it always does!” quipped Hamilton.
