The Daily Express reports on Everton's rumoured pursuit of Sean Longstaff, claiming the Blues will make an 'improved offer' for the Newcastle United midfielder.

The 24-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has been linked with a move to Goodison Park since Rafa Benitez's arrival.

It is believed one bid has already been turned down by the Magpies, but Benitez has now signalled for a second offer to be lodged.

Discussions over the potential transfer of Lucas Digne to Aston Villa are set to intensify today, according to the Daily Mail.

Everton are believed to want a payment in the region of £25million for the France international.

It is believed Newcastle United have also made an improved offer for the Blues' left-back.

Sky Sports News journalist Florian Plettenberg tweeted on Monday evening that Eddie Howe's side raised their previous bid for Digne, but added that a medical at Aston Villa could take place in the coming days.
