A number of reports in Monday's media claim Everton left-back Lucas Digne is edging closer to a move to Aston Villa.

The Daily Mail speculates the France international could be heading to Villa Park for a fee in the region on £25million.

Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, meanwhile, believes Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi could potentially move in the opposite direction as part of any forthcoming deal.

Elsewhere, in the Liverpool Echo, there are quotes from Andros Townsend following the summer recruit's match-winning contribution against Hull City over the weekend.

Speaking following the 3-2 extra-time win in Humberside, he said: "It's always nice when you win football matches. For some reason we keep going behind and keep giving ourselves too much to do.

"But one thing we have been saying is that we've shown massive character I think in almost every game this season we've gone behind, to come back with a fight.

"If we can cut out the conceding early we can beat teams. We just have to keep going, keep believing, keep working hard in training - and I'm sure we can get there."
