Everton have made an official approach to sign Newcastle United's Sean Longstaff, according to The Mirror

The 24-year-old is said to be keen on a move to Merseyside, however, Eddie Howe's side are believed to be reluctant to let him move on from the Magpies this window.

Longstaff is out of contract at the end of the season and any deal conducted this month could be for a cut-price.

The Liverpool Echo claims Jean-Philippe Gbamin will be allowed to move on from Everton this transfer window.

The 26-year-old, who has made two appearances this season, is said to be attracting interest from clubs in Germany and Italy.

This report is supported by Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport whose source states AS Roma is one of the sides interested in the Ivory Coast international.

However, it is unlikely the switch would be a permanent transfer with Jose Mourinho's side keen to sign the player initially on loan.

Staying in Italy, TuttoMercatoWeb believes Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their pursuit of Blues goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris contract expires at the end of the season and the north Londoners are rumoured to be keen on signing a long-term successor to the Frenchman.
