Nathan Patterson completed his move from Rangers on Tuesday to become Everton’s second signing of the January transfer window – and it can be revealed the right-back will wear the number three shirt for the Blues.
Patterson succeeds Toffees icon Leighton Baines, who was the previous player to wear the jersey for Everton.
In the Premier League era, Andy Hinchcliffe, Michael Ball, Alessandro Pistone and Gary Naysmith have also donned the shirt for the Blues.
Scotland international Patterson wore number 16 during his past two seasons with Rangers.
