Everton Backs Shelter's #NOHOMEKIT Campaign

Everton Football Club has joined forces with Shelter this Christmas in support of its campaign to raise awareness of homelessness across the country.

The charity is striving to raise funds as it tackles the growing scale of the nationwide problem.

Every 90 minutes, 25 households are made homeless. So, between the first and last whistle of any given Premier League game, another 25 households will be left without a safe, secure place to call home.

The number of homeless people in the UK has also risen dramatically in the past decade exacerbated by the pandemic which has left more than 180,000 households across the country homeless since March 2020.

Using the power of football, Shelter is therefore urging Everton fans to show their backing this Christmas by ditching the Royal Blue home shirt in favour of their favourite away strip for the trip to Burnley on Boxing Day - and making a donation.

#NOHOMEKIT is a simple idea in a powerful act of support and solidarity for people without a home and with the aim of fundraising to support Shelter’s frontline services and its campaigns to end the housing emergency for good.

Alternatively, text ‘HOME’ to 70455 to donate £5.

Everton Ambassador Graham Stuart said: “This is a great awareness raising campaign that is receiving nationwide support and here at Everton, we want to help amplify Shelter’s important messages.

“So, wherever you are in the world, if you’re going to Burnley, watching it in the pub with your supporters’ club or catching up with the highlights on Match of the Day, put on your favourite Everton away shirt and make a donation to Shelter.”

Supporters are also being asked to share their favourite Everton away images and tag the Club on social media.

Simply throw on your favourite Everton away kit, adding the #NOHOMEKIT hashtag, and an image of the donation you’ve made.

Help us to help Shelter offer a safe and secure home to thousands of affected people across the UK.
