We’ve been going through a tough period, there’s no getting away from that. Results haven’t been good enough and we feel we should be doing a lot better than we are.
It’s difficult for us, the fans and the Club, but I’m sure we can turn this around – we have to keep working hard and I believe the tide will turn.
As a squad, it’s in these moments you have to stick together and get around each other. That’s what we’ve doing.
We have to go into each game with the right mentality and show what we can do.
We’ve got Chelsea on Thursday night and, of course, they are a very good team and in contention for the title, but we believe we are more than capable of performing and getting a result.
We need to show what we did against Arsenal and in the other games we did well in earlier this season. We need to find that rhythm and consistency again.
On a personal level, I’m eager to kick on and produce key moments for the team over this busy and important period. I’m very focused and I’m determined to help the team as much as I can.
The manager wants me to be dangerous off the ball with my movement, and he’s given me the freedom to do what I do best.
We have a good relationship. We click. I understand him and he understands me. For a player like me, an attacker, I thrive on that belief and freedom from the manager to express myself. I feel like I’m playing my best football and having my best season.
I know I can make the difference in games and I just want to do that more.
I’ve scored five goals so far this campaign and I always believed at some point I would have a season where I’d start putting the ball in the net regularly.
I knew when I was in the right place under the right staff, I would kick on, and I feel like I’m at a club where I’m valued.
Scoring goals is a key part of my game, and it’s still quite early in the season so hopefully I can add quite a few more.
The most important thing, though, is to start putting together some good results and climbing the table.
We’ve got good players here, with good character, and we’ve got the belief the results will turn. Now it’s about showing that on the pitch.
