Everton Under-23s face a trip to Peterborough United in the Premier League Cup on Friday afternoon (1pm GMT kick-off).

David Unsworth's young Blues currently sit bottom of a congested Group D, following one win and two defeats from their opening three fixtures.

But Everton, who won the competition the last time it was completed in 2018/19, remain firmly in the race to progress to the last 16 at the halfway point of the group stages, with third-placed Burnley also on three points, second-placed Sheffield United on four points and current group leaders Peterborough on seven points.

High on confidence following an impressive 2-0 home win over Arsenal in the PL2 last time out, the Under-23s take on The Posh at the Weston Homes Stadium on Friday lunchtime.
