Everton youngster Nathan Broadhead has been credited for his performances whilst on loan at Sunderland.

The 23-year-old has scored four goals in as many games for the Black Cats and former club striker Stephen Elliott praised the on-loan star's contribution to the side.

Writing in his Sunderland Echo column, Elliott said: “I’ve been really impressed with Broadhead over the past few weeks.

“He has a good understanding of the game and drifts into some great positions on the pitch that opponents struggle to cope with.

"It seems like he is really enjoying his time at the club. He has undoubted potential and that is why Everton invested in him.

“Perhaps Sunderland is the club for him where he can thrive and create a name for himself before he goes back to Merseyside.”

Meanwhile, it is claimed that rumoured Blues transfer target Jonathan Ikone, 23, will be made available in January.

The Lille forward helped the French side to the Ligue 1 title last campaign, however, the side's President Olivier Letang has admitted he could be sold in an interview with TuttoMercatoWEB.

However, Everton will face competition from Fiorentina, who Letang confirmed have expressed their interest in the player.
