Rafa Benitez provided injury updates on Brazilian duo Richarlison and Allan following Everton's defeat at Crystal Palace.
Allan missed Sunday's trip to the capital with an adductor injury - and while only minor, Benitez revealed the Blues could not afford to risk the combative midfielder with a busy festive period on the horizon.
Richarlison, meanwhile, was withdrawn on 58 minutes after playing on with a calf problem at Selhurst Park.
"Allan has a little problem with his adductor," Benitez confirmed to evertontv.
"He was not really bad but he was feeling something - and we cannot take any risk with any player.
"It is the same case for Richarlison, who has a calf [problem] and at half-time we were thinking about making the substitution.
"He was saying, 'No, I will try!' but after it was clear for us that he couldn't.
"The reality is that it is a pity because we did not want to lose another striker, with Dominic still not available."
