The Liverpool Echo reacts to the news delivered by Everton manager Rafa Benitez on the injury concern oVER midfielder Allan.

The Blues boss spoke to the media yesterday during his pre-match press conference and confirmed the Brazilian received treatment for a muscle injury.

However, Benitez was optimistic the midfielder would be in contention for this weekend's trip to Brentford.

"I hope so," the Everton manager told the press. "He was having some treatment today (Thursday) but my feeling is he will be fine."

On transfer speculation, The Mirror has claimed that Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin could make a loan move to a Championship club in January to get minutes under his belt.

A report coming from Italy, via Tutto Mercato Web, claims the Blues are "pressing hard" to sign Arsen Zakharyan from Dynamo Moscow.

The 18-year-old has impressed this season, scoring three goals and registering six assists in 14 games for his side.

The youngster is said to be versatile in his play, being able to play on both sides of the park and also in the centre of midfield.

It is believed the Moscow side values their player at €10million.
