Everton Women earned their first-ever point against Manchester United in the Barclays FA Women's Super League as substitute Simone Magill struck late to share the spoils.
It was a dominant performance from the Blues who never gave in despite being a goal behind for over 65 minutes throughout the contest.
Jean-Luc Vasseur made four changes from the side that lost to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Nathalie Björn and Anna Anvegård both picked up a knock in training and missed Sunday's match as a precaution. Aurora Galli was unavailable for medical reasons.
The visitors started well with Alessia Russo causing issues along the right flank.
Two minutes into the match, Russo nearly gave her side the lead after her run into the box and cut back pass looked dangerous but could only find Everton’s Gabby George who smartly cleared away.
However, it was Russo who would pose a threat shortly after as she helped United gain the lead.
The number 23 began a counter attack on the half way line played the ball through to Martha Thomas.
Thomas layed the ball off to Ella Toone who slotted the ball into the right-hand corner with 10 minutes on the clock.
The Toffees had a chance to get themselves back into the game five minutes later when Claire Emslie was played in behind the United defence after a brilliant pass from Kenza Dali, the Scottish international attempted to chip goalkeeper Mary Earps but the ball floated over the bar.
Despite Everton beginning to play their way into the game, Marc Skinner’s side came close to adding a second of the afternoon.
Toone played the ball in from the corner as Thomas rose to meet it with her header flashing by the post.
Scottish duo, Lucy Graham and Emslie began causing problems for the United full-backs late into the first half with Emslie looking the most dangerous player for Everton, just two minutes before half time she found herself in some space behind the away team's midfield however, her excellent strike from around 30 yards crashed against the bar.
Into the second half and Everton's confidence continued to grow and got their just reward with an equaliser.

After a mix-up between Maria Thorisdottir and Earps, Magill captilised and struck the ball through the United 'keeper before she was able to gather the effort to put us back level.
In the final stages, United thought they had regained the lead had it not been for the heroic actions of Sandy MacIver.
With a minute left to play in regular time, goalscorer Toone connected with the ball from 18-yards-out as it looked set to arrive at the top-left corner. However, Everton's England international met it at full stretch with a brilliant diving save to deny Toone and United a second.
A fantastic performance which the squad will look to build on when they travel to face Leicester City next weekend.
