Manager Provides Latest Team News

Rafa Benitez has confirmed Lucas Digne is fit and available for Sunday’s home clash against Tottenham Hotspur – but Yerry Mina remains out along with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andre Gomes.

Left-back Digne missed Monday night’s 2-1 loss at Wolverhampton Wanderers with a minor muscle complaint but has been training at USM Finch Farm this week, and Blues boss Benitez is confident the Frenchman will be in contention for the visit of Antonio Conte's Spurs to Goodison (2pm GMT).

Benitez added that Mina (hamstring), Calvert-Lewin (quadriceps), Doucoure (foot) and Gomes (calf) are progressing with their rehabilitation but this weekend will come too soon for the quartet.

He said: "Digne's fine. He has been training so hopefully he will be available. There's no Yerry Mina, no Andre Gomes, no Doucoure and no Calvert-Lewin.

Following the returns of Fabian Delph and Cenk Tosun to the matchday squad at Molineux on Monday, Benitez added: "We are bringing players back little by little. Now we have Tosun, Delph - (Jarrad) Branthwaite is coming back - so we are still missing key players but we are bringing players back and hopefully they will have a big part in our success if we can win games now."
