PODCAST: Vaughan On Mental Health, Racial Abuse And His Everton Career

In the final episode of our Black History Month podcast mini-series, we caught up with former Everton forward James Vaughan.

One of the Club's academy graduates, Vaughan made his first team debut as a substitute against Crystal Palace in April 2005.

It was a debut to remember as Vaughan found the back of the net and became the Premier League and Everton's youngest top flight goalscorer at the age of 16 years and 271 days.

Now 16 years on, the 33-year-old opens up on his mental health struggles as a kid and how more can be done to help the youth in society.

He also discusses how the battle against racism has evolved with the challenges faced by attacks on social media.

Vaughan takes a moment to reflect on his career and the names the best he has played alongside.

Darren Griffiths caught up with the former Toffee in the final episode of our podcast mini-series.
