Condy Lofthouse Golf Day Raises £28,000 For EitC

Liverpool architects Condy Lofthouse have raised a staggering £28,000 for Everton in the Community’s mental health campaign, The People’s Place, through a charity golf event at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club.

The award-winning architectural practice hosted the event at the prestigious golf club in Hoylake as part of its year-long pledge to support Everton in the Community through its ‘Charity of the Year’ partnership with 10 teams of four taking on the world-famous course.

A day at the golf course was shortly followed by a black-tie dinner with 80 people attending the evening raising more funds for the charity. The night played host to Everton in the Community’s Spirit Choir who performed whilst attendees took their place for dinner before Condy Lofthouse Director, Jason Maher, whose association with the charity spans over ten years opened the evening by speaking about the charity’s campus and the services it brings to L4.

The evening, which was hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Giulia Bould, and supported by former Blues Graeme Sharp and Derek Mountfield then welcomed Everton in the Community’s CEO Richard Kenyon to the stage to provide an update on the charity’s progress and the success of its Blue Family campaign.

The night continued with a range of fundraising activities which included raffles and both live and silent auctions in support of The People’s Place, where a whole range of Everton memorabilia and experiences were on offer.

Helping pull the night together was Condy Lofthouse Director, Andy Armstrong who spoke in glowing terms about the night and the cause adding: “Everton in the Community is close to our hearts and we feel privileged that we can offer our support to grow and offer vital services to our local community.

“The weather was kind, the scores posted were competitive and the success of the gala dinner in the evening raised a total of £28,726.40 for a worthy cause.”

The People’s Place is Everton in the Community’s mental health campaign to raise funds for the build and sustained development of a dedicated mental health facility just 500 metres away from Goodison Park which will provide holistic mental health support to service the L4 community and beyond.

Condy Lofthouse will continue to support Everton in the Community’s fundraising efforts with a number of activities already in the calendar for the remainder of the year including cycle challenges, sky dives and bungee jumps!

Fundraising Manager, Carena Duffy affirmed the charity’s appreciation to the wonderful generosity shown by Condy Lofthouse and its staff, adding: “The need for The People’s Place has only heightened since the pandemic and its effects on our mental health. We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received so far from Condy Lofthouse and we’re very excited to see what other fundraising activities they have in store for the rest of the year!

“On behalf of Everton in the Community, I’d like to say thank you to the staff, members and visitors at the golf club, all of whom were accommodating and keen to find out more about the work we do in Merseyside.”
