Increased Matchday Spot-Checks At Goodison On Sunday

Adult supporters attending Everton’s fixture against West Ham United at Goodison Park on Sunday are advised to be ready to provide proof of vaccination, or a negative lateral flow test.

In line with the Club’s own safety protocols and the Premier League’s ongoing commitment to ensure all top-flight matches are as safe as possible for all attendees, matchday spot-checks will be increased for forthcoming games, beginning with the visit of the Hammers on Sunday (2pm BST kick-off).

Supporters aged 18 or over should attend the match only if they either have a valid NHS COVID Pass, can show valid alternative proof that they have been fully vaccinated (see FAQs below), or have registered a negative COVID test in the previous 48 hours.

Supporters between the ages of 12 and 17 should, if asked, be able to demonstrate they have returned a negative lateral flow test result in the 48 hours preceding the game.

There will be heightened visibility of spot-checkers at the home games against West Ham United and Watford, with all checkers outside the stadium wearing blue hi-vis jackets.

Information about linking your vaccination record to the NHS app and obtaining proof of a negative COVID-19 test can be found HERE.

What proof of COVID certification is required for entry?

Evidence of COVID status is a condition of entry across the Premier League. Supporters over the age of 18 should only attend a match if they have a valid NHS COVID Pass, can show valid alternative proof that they have been fully (double) vaccinated, or have registered a negative COVID test in the previous 48 hours.

The list of accepted evidence is as follows:

- NHS COVID Pass via: NHS App, Apple/Android Wallet, PDF of NHS COVID Pass, NHS COVID Pass Letter.
- NHS COVID Vaccine Card.
- EU Digital COVID Certificate.
- Negative COVID Test Result, via: Email, Text Message.
- Antibody Test Result, via: NHS App - Positive PCR Test less than 6 months ago.

Supporters aged over 12, who can gain entry to Goodison Park without an adult, should also be able to demonstrate they have returned a negative lateral flow test result in the 48 hours preceding the game.

Are Hospitality Guests included in the policy?

Anyone attending games at Goodison Park must be prepared to display COVID certification.

What if I am exempt from the need to be vaccinated?

Anyone exempt from vaccination will be allowed entrance, but we advise those supporters to register to generate a NHS COVID Pass medical exemption, as this is likely to required for proof of entry for sporting events from December onwards. This can be done HERE.

The Premier League has provided all clubs with the authority to refuse entry to the ground if a supporter cannot provide evidence of vaccination, a negative test or exemption from the policy. The implementation of this authority remains at the discretion of individual clubs.

Will I have to display evidence of COVID certification on each matchday, if challenged?

The Club is currently working with the Premier League on ways of exempting supporters from duplicate checks. However, in the interim, you should be prepared to offer proof of COVID status each time you visit the stadium.

Will the increase in matchday spot-checks delay entry to the stadium?

While delays at turnstiles will be kept to a minimum, supporters are advised to arrive at Goodison Park in good time, in readiness for an increase in spot-checks.

I am travelling to the game from overseas - how do I present my vaccination passport?

Fans from other nations should be prepared to present proof of vaccination from their national care provider.
