Abdoulaye Doucoure has scooped his first Davanti Tyres Everton Goal of the Month award after fans voted his superb strike against Southampton as the Club's best of August.

The Frenchman arrowed a vicious right-footed strike into the top corner of the Howard Kendall Gwladys Street End net to put Everton in front, having conceded the first goal of the contest.

The strike sparked scenes of jubilation on a memorable afternoon at Goodison, where the Toffees recorded a 3-1 win over the Saints - in front of a sold-out crowd for the first time in nearly 18 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Doucoure's effort was a clear winner with 74.6% of the overall vote, while Demarai Gray's strikes against Brighton and Hove Albion (11.1%) and Leeds United (4.7%) finished second and third respectively.
