Stem Cell Appeal For Gary Stevens' Young Son After Devastating Relapse

Everton legend Gary Stevens has had the devastating news that his son Jack has suffered a relapse and that he desperately needs a stem cell donor.

Four-year old Jack had been responding well to treatment for juvenile myelomonocytic leukaemia, a rare blood cancer that affects young children,  but the family has been rocked by the news that it is no longer working and that he will need to restart chemotherapy.

“As you can imagine, this is the worst possible news for all of us,” said Gary. “He was doing so well, and the search is back on for a suitable stem cell donor.

"They used his brother, Oliver, the first time around but we’ve been told that can’t be an option this time.

"It really is a race against time and all we can do is hope and pray.”
