Quality In Depth Will Push Everton To New Heights Says Dali and Emslie

A strong summer of recruitment will set up Everton Women for a thrilling season, according to Kenza Dali and Claire Emslie.

Willie Kirk’s side have recruited well this window, strengthening all areas of the park with seven new signings.

Five of which graced the field over the weekend in a comprehensive 6-1 win over Brighton.

One of the summer’s first recruits was France international Dali, who impressed against Sunday’s visitors and says she couldn’t have felt more welcome at the Club.

“I feel really good with this team,” she told evertontv. “Everyone was so welcoming, so it makes it easier.

“I have got some really good players around me and I’m enjoying my football.

“The players that were already here have been so welcoming.

“I started the first week with Danielle Turner, Nicoline Sorensen and Leonie Maier, they were all so nice.

“When people show you that they’re happy to have you here it helps.”

Speaking alongside her new teammate Emslie, the Scotland striker spoke of the quality Dali and the new signings will bring to the team ahead of the new season.

“It’s good to have Kenza in the team,” Emslie added.

“Our link up, her through-balls. She was unlucky not to score against Brighton.”

“Right through the squad, we have got quality.

“Toni [Duggan] got more minutes, Aurora Galli as well. I think all of the new girls are fitting in really well.”

KIRK IMPRESSED AFTER BRIGHTON WIN

Manager Willie Kirk was left impressed by his squad after a thrilling 6-1 win over Brighton in a pre-season friendly.

Emslie added that the strength in depth that the team now possesses can allow the side to better last season’s fifth-placed league finish and make the charge for the European spots.

“To have so much depth is really important.

“I think last year we maybe didn’t have that and that’s where we struggled towards the end of the season.

“It’s important that we’ve got a lot of numbers as long as everyone is on the same page with the right attitude.

“Everyone will be called upon at some point so it’s great to have that much depth.”
