Richarlison Wins Olympic Gold Medal

Richarlison is an Olympic gold medalist after helping Brazil to a 2-1 extra-time victory over Spain in the Men's Football final at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama.

The Blues forward missed a first-half penalty before Matheus Cunha broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time to give Brazil the advantage.

Richarlison was then frustrated again in the second period, as he saw his effort superbly saved on to the crossbar with Brazil threatening to extend their lead.

Spain equalised in impressive style just after the hour mark, as Mikel Oyarzabal thundered home Carlos Soler's cross with an unstoppable volley.

The game headed into extra-time - and it was Malcom who struck the decisive blow with 12 minutes of the extra 30 remaining, rounding off a clinical counter-attack after a Spain corner.

The victory makes it back-to-back Olympic titles for Brazil, who registered their first-ever gold in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

It has been a busy summer for Richarlison, having played a key role in his nation's Copa America campaign - where they finished runners-up to Argentina - before heading out to the delayed Tokyo 2020.

He started every match at the Olympic games, registering five goals and one assist in the process.

Congratulations, Richy!
