Howard Leads Florida Talks

Tim Howard joined local soccer representatives on Tuesday morning for a round of panel discussions relating to the USA 2026 World Cup bid.

The ‘Florida Talks’ event was staged in the Varsity Club at the Camping World Stadium where Everton played Millonarios on Sunday and will face Pumas on Wednesday.

Tim was joined on the top table by the Greater Orlando Sports Commission CEO Jason Siegel and Adidas sports marketing executive Rafael Pereira.

The concept of Florida Talks was to unite soccer personalities, programmes and brands to share knowledge and experiences about their time and experiences in the sport.

The trio shared their various world football opinions and recollections in front of an invited audience that included current and former players, coaches and administrators from the Orlando area.

After the first panel discussion, the top table guests changed and the focus shifted to youth development.

The Executive Liaison for Everton in the USA, Jurgen Mainka, was part of the panel, along with Paddy Byrne, Everton’s International Academy Technical Lead.

They were joined by Florida Cup CEO Ricardo Villar, former FC Dallas Technical Director Barry Gorman, Marshall University head soccer coach Chris Grassie and Fluminense academy director Marcelo Teixeira.

Everton are very much involved in the growth and development of young talent in the States via our International Academy affiliate programme and our International Soccer Schools.
