Townsend Starts As Benitez Names Everton Florida Cup Team

Andros Townsend is poised for his first Everton appearance and James Rodriguez will begin against compatriots Millonarios, as Rafa Benitez's team contest the Florida Cup on Sunday night.

Forward Townsend starts the game in Orlando's Camping World Stadium five days after completing a move from Crystal Palace to Goodison Park.

He is joined in the side by goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who switched to Everton from Bournemouth on the same day as Townsend's arrival.

Moise Kean is set for his first football for Everton since a goalscoring appearance in a Carabao Cup victory over Fleetwood Town on 23 September last year.

The match, kicking off at 11pm UK time – 6pm Stateside – will see Colombian attacker James line-up against the 15-times champions of his homeland.

Seamus Coleman plays at right-back and captains Everton, while there is good news on the left of defence, with Lucas Digne fit for a start 32 days after the 28-year-old's European Championship campaign with France was ended early by injury.

The English pair of Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey are Everton's centre-backs.

Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure play in the centre of midfield, with Alex Iwobi, James and Townsend stationed behind striker Kean, who spent the majority of last term on loan in France with Paris Saint-Germain.
