Tuesday’s edition of the Daily Mail suggests Everton are keen to sign centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

Everton manager Rafael Benitez is said to be an admirer of Koulibaly, 30, having worked with the Senegalese during his time in charge at the Serie A side.

Portuguese media outlet Correio da Manha continues to link Everton with a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes.

The 22-year-old Brazilian was a key part of the Sporting team that won the Portuguese league title last season and is rumoured to be valued at around £15million.

Spanish newspaper Marca, meanwhile, claims AC Milan could be lining up an offer for Everton playmaker James Rodriguez.

Napoli and La Liga champions Atletico Madrid are also believed to hold an interest in the Colombian.

And the Liverpool Echo features quotes from Everton goalkeeping coach Alan Kelly, who has paid tribute to Jordan Pickford’s “faultless” performances in the European Championship.

“Jordan has got great character, determination and honesty," added Kelly, whose quotes were originally published in a column for evertonfc.com. "You can see he’s brought his personality to the England team and played a part in building that fantastic team spirit they’ve got.

"The people who know him best – his friends, his family, and the people who work with him every day at Everton – know what type of character he is.

"That’s why we’re not surprised to see him perform so well and carry himself like he has on such a big stage."
